25 girls from all regions of the country will compete for the title and crown at the national beauty contest "Miss Belarus-2016". The final of the competition will take place on May 6, and today the beauties were brought out for the first time, presenting them to journalists.

It seems that being a Belarusian has finally really become fashionable at all levels. The moral character of the girls also matters. Even at the casting stage, the rules stipulated that “girls who are related to photo and video materials of an erotic or pornographic nature will be denied participation in the competition.”

Mindful of the scandalous story with the winner of the Miss Minsk contest in 2013, the organizers of the Miss Belarus contest assured that they are very responsible in the selection of contenders for the crown, therefore they carefully check the reputation and biography of the girls.

“The girls are being questioned and interviewed. Last years we are checking all social networks, - said Anzhelina Mikulskaya. - If some moments confuse us, we find out everything in conversations with girls, with their relatives. Those. we take this very seriously because this is not just a beauty pageant. This is the standard of our Belarusian woman, and it is very important that these girls are morally beautiful.”

At the first meeting with journalists, the girls were laconic - either they were shy, or they had nothing to say. But they smiled a lot and broadly, to which the host of the press acquaintance suggested introducing a new nomination "Miss Smile" into the competition.

Only a few participants boldly spoke about themselves and their motives for participating in the competition. As it turned out, these brave ones - Veronika Korobko (Nesvizh), Svetlana Gorbacheva (Vitebsk) and Alina Roskach (Svetlogorsk) - came to the competition for the second time.

This year, only one representative from Brest and Mogilev regions takes part in the competition - Olga Gribovskaya and Kristina Matesha, respectively. But it was the Brest and Mogilev women who received the crown twice: in 2002 and 2012, Olga Nevdakh and Yulia Skalkovich from Brest became Miss Belarus, and in 2000 and 2006 - Anna Stychinskaya and Ekaterina Litvinova from Mogilev.

In other years, the competition was won by girls from Grodno, Polotsk, Vitebsk and Smorgon. It is noteworthy that Minskers have never managed to try on the crown of the beauty queen.

This year, Minsk and the Minsk region are represented by 13 beauties, Vitebsk and Gomel - 4 each, Grodno - 2.

Professions present and future for girls are very different. There are teachers, lawyers, a dentist, a stylist, a professional gymnast, a technologist, a model, an economist.

Starting from April 25, voting will start on the ont.by website, the results of which will determine the “Miss Audience Choice Award”.

The final show of the tenth national beauty contest will take place on May 6 in the capital's Prime Hall concert hall. In addition to Miss Belarus 2016, winners will also be determined in six categories: Miss Friendship, Miss Top Model, Miss Photo, Miss Oriflame, Second Vice Miss, First Vice Miss.

The girl who will become the owner of the title "Miss Belarus-2016" will represent our country at the "Miss World" contest, which will be held in December.

The main beauty of Belarus was chosen for the tenth time. Once the idea of such a competition was put forward personally by the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko. Now, traditionally, the head of state and his entourage take their seats in the auditorium and observe the election of the most beautiful "face of the country."

Due to the forthcoming visit of the president, security standards in the Sports Palace and its surroundings were strengthened: it was impossible to enter the parking lot at the building, and the security check at the entrance was especially strict.

"Yes, what can I have here," the girl tried to be indignant and shook her small clutch in front of the guard's face. He ignored her indignation and still asked to see the contents.

The show took place on the main stage of the Sports Palace. Two “parterres” were added to the stands in the hall - chairs lined up in rows were prepared especially for the guests of the competition and journalists. Relatives and those who bought tickets remained in the stands, from where they greeted their favorites in discordant voices.

The final performance of 26 Belarusian beauties began with a defile in stylized linen dresses. But the real start to the competition was given by the head of state: he spoke to the girls a little "out of protocol" - he told a story from his life and assured that beauty is often stronger than economics and politics.

“Some of you are just taking the first steps in life, someone will be in big politics. Perhaps at first it’s easy to help, and then in politics itself,” Lukashenka said.

The hall met the President's words with approval. The audience also liked Lukashenka's reflection that the jury of the competition still cannot be objective, therefore each of the girls is a winner.

"Success!" the president admonished and went to take his seat in the hall.

However, one of the contestants hesitated and forgot to step back. Lukashenka did not lose his head: he gently took him aside, which caused another burst of applause.

"This is the best birthday present ever!"

The directors of the final show built it as follows: several defiles, and between them - performances by Belarusian artists and jokes from the presenters.

The girls walked in front of the public in historical outfits - from reconstructions of dresses from the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to modern stylizations. The guests of the competition were also pleased with the fashion show in swimsuits with fur accessories, causing an approving noise from the male part of the hall. There were also defiles in closed swimsuits and evening dresses, but they all had one thing in common - the girls often looked simply frightened. They tried to smile, but you could see how their hands were trembling.

The beauty of the girls and their ability to walk were evaluated by a jury that brought together a wide variety of people: it included directors of modeling agencies, as well as sculptors, teachers and officials. The jury was headed by presidential adviser Maxim Ryzhenkov, who had a birthday on Sunday.

“This is the best gift! Never in my life have so many beautiful girls looked at me as today,” Ryzhenkov said in his speech.

"Don't they need to be smart?"

Two hours after the start of the show, the audience enjoyed several fashion shows, performances by Dima Koldun, Alena Lanskaya, NAVI, Uncle Vanya and others. And unexpectedly for many, they immediately began to reward the winners of the review.

“Here is the quintessence of the beauty of Belarusian women,” Uncle Vanya, the host of the final, assured.

The audience supported the words of the artist, but began to talk among themselves: shouldn't the contestants answer questions or present any projects.

“I would like to hear how they speak! Or is it not necessary to be smart?”, the guests of the Sports Palace asked each other in bewilderment. But all questions soon faded into the background: the intensity of emotions took its toll and riveted the attention of the public to the contestants lined up on the stage.

Polina Borodacheva from Minsk became the winner of the contest. By the way, for the first time in the history of the competition, a Minsker won it. It is also interesting that out of ten title holders since 1998, eight are dark-haired beauties, including Borodacheva.

"Miss Belarus-2016" received not only the crown and many prizes from the partners of the contest, but also the opportunity to represent the republic at the "Miss World". Well, next time the republic will choose its main jumper in 2018.
