But this day is coming, the diploma is in my hands and you think, that’s it, now I am a certified SPECIALIST and I just have to submit my resume to this or that company, they will accept me there with my hands.

After a couple of dozens of the same type of interviews, you understand that everything is not as adults told us, not as we imagined it, but in such a way that without experience you are not hired even for the most miserable position, experience is needed everywhere, but it is not there, it must first be obtained, i.e. work, and only then they will take you, the circle is closed.

After a couple of months of walking and meetings, you understand that of course you can be hired, but not for those who you studied for 5 years, you can start from the very bottom and you may never get a position, say, an accountant or an economist at an enterprise, you just you put your blue or even red diploma in a box in the hope that someday you will work in your specialty, but in the meantime you are another graduate of an economic university in another hackneyed specialty who no one needs without work experience and real knowledge, and not heaps of theory from textbooks and manuals.

Actually, this truth does not apply to all institutes and areas, if you are a doctor and you graduated from medical with good grades, you will surely go further and get a job, if you are suddenly a talented bridge design engineer, then you will also find a free place in one of the research institutes .

Well, if you decide to become an economist and you don’t have any special talents, you don’t have good acquaintances with your firms and a desire to mess around with a green graduate, then alas, in 90% of cases you will have to work not in your specialty and you may like another job that is just will overshadow everything that you spent 5 years of training on.

Therefore, I believe that higher education in the modern way is of course necessary, but it does not guarantee employment, basic knowledge, yes, a good and unforgettable time when you are a student, yes, preparation for adulthood, also yes, but no more, the rest will have to be achieved most often from scratch.

Is education necessary these days? ? Surprisingly, we hear this phrase more and more often in our time. And not only because now great attention is given to the levels and quality of education.

Modern youth is increasingly thinking about a prosperous life and a dignified old age. And even though many teenagers are not used to making informed decisions at that age (sometimes they even make serious mistakes), sometimes they may not think about the plan "ahead", but it's still worth doing. This rumor appeared a long time ago, you should not blindly believe that without a higher education you will be able to enter a decent and well-paid job. Of course there are exceptions. Even apart from those people who got a job thanks to influential or wealthy relatives, there are people with talent and skills at the highest level. But where is the confirmation of this? Now employers give preference to people who have a diploma of higher education.

Quite a strange joke, but there is truth in it. Why give up higher education if you have a craving for knowledge, a desire to find a good job and natural talent? If education is considered as an investment, then it is an investment of a decent amount for a very long time with an absolutely unpredictable and incomprehensible result for me. I wonder if any of the supporters of higher education as an investment will answer even to himself what ROI he has, or at least the return on investment as a percentage per annum. I prefer to invest here and now from 10% per year and more on transparent terms.
Below is a graph of what will happen in my case if, instead of higher education, I invest the saved money at 10% per annum. Those. at the end of the five year period I will have $305,000 If I continue to invest at 10% per annum, then I will receive more than $30,000 per year of passive income, and not an intern's salary.

I see no reason to listen to lectures and write them down in a notebook, because I know what the Internet is and I know how to use search engines. Knowledge should be rewarded with money, not "play money" in the form of grades. Played the "Get Better Than Your Neighbor" game for ten years at school. At the end of this game, all my fives turned out to be priceless and useless in the new realities. The second time I see no point in wasting time on meaningless competitions with peers.

I do not see a practical result in the lion's share of the subjects offered for study. If I have a goal, I know what knowledge I lack. The less I get distracted by extraneous information, the faster I achieve my goal.


I am not interested in listening to the conclusions of ill-prepared fellow students in the course of minutes, which pour out into hours, weeks, months and years. What is the practical use for me from listening to Ivanov Ivanov's "speech at the blackboard" at a seminar, practical lesson, exam in order to assess the level of knowledge?! And what else is there to do for an adult girl when someone is mooing near the blackboard?!
